  • We offer PDP classes through Fitness and Recreation (FItRec) for Boston University students. These are essentially no-credit classes where you can learn how to figure skate no matter your experience.

  • No matter your skill level, there is a place for you in BUFSC. We have competitive skaters, recreational skaters, as well as PDP skaters with a range of experience.

  • At BUFSC we have a club and a competitive team. What distinguishes the two is that the team travels to regional and national competitions and competes. You do have to tryout for the team. For more information, fill out our contact form.

  • Please fill out the Contact Us form for further details on this.

  • If you’ve never skated before and have never taken lessons, we recommend our PDP classes. This is the easiest way for you to learn to skate. Other than that, Walter Brown Arena has open skating times which can be found at this link under the ‘Open Skating Hours’ tab: https://www.bu.edu/fitrec/visit-us/hours

  • Many of our competitive team members continue to compete outside of collegiate skating. We also have a diverse set of ice times, so there shouldn’t be a problem finding ice that works for you.

That being said, it isn’t uncommon for our members to additionally train at the Skating Club of Boston or other nearby rinks when we don’t have ice.

  • We love this question!

BUFSC puts on themed shows in the fall and spring semesters. These display the creativity and artistry of our club, team, PDP, and synchronized skaters.
